Semester spring semester 2023
Course frequency Every spring sem.
Lecturers Jana Flury (jana.flury@unibas.ch)

In the faunistic part of the course, we will focus on invertebrates (e.g., diversity of the diptera insect class). Ecological questions based on field work activities will be addressed in student groups of two and the results will be presented orally at the end of the field week.
Learning objectives Introduction to basic ecological concepts and basic principles of field work, identification of plant and insect species occurring in the Simplon pass region and their morphotypes and how to create a small . herbarium or photo collection of a few typical alpine plants.
