Content Principles of the immune system; Immunotoxicology of drugs; Immunosafety of biopharmaceuticals
Immunosafety risk assessment; Immunosafety toolbox; Risk mitigation strategy
Principles of T cell stimulation by hapten, prohapten, pi-concept and HLA restricted relations
Immune reactions to biologicals: principles and clinic; Drugs and antibody productions: IgE mediated reactons (the penicilin model); anaphylaxis, cross-reactivity, pholcodin model
Immun reactions to biologicals: infusion reactions and cytokine release syndromes: risk assessment. Type II and III reactions (haemolytic anaemia, agranulo-cytosis, throbocytopenia, ...)
Drugs and the skin: toxicity & contact dermatitis
Drugs and the skin: cutaneous reactions (MPE, SJS/TEN, AGEP)
Risk assessment in drug hypersensitivity - in vivo or in vitro? Is it possible? Examples
Diagnosis of drug hypersensitivity: skin tests, provocation tests, in vitro tests for drug hypersensitivity
Learning objectives The basic principles of immunology should be known by the participants.
Know the principles of immunotoxicological hazard identification and risk assessment of drugs.
Know the basics of drug-induced hypersensitivity.
Understand IgE mediated reactions against drugs.
understand the basics of infusion reactions and cytokine release syndromes.
Know the basics of skin reactions against drugs.
