Content The aim of this workshop is to examine different aspects of non-numeric data analysis techniques, including variations, possibilities, and limits of qualitative data analysis; assumptions and biases in qualitative research; data preparation for qualitative analysis; and analysis of different types of non-numeric data. The analysis part of the workshop will mainly cover qualitative content and thematic analyses. We will also recommend presentation and publication strategies for qualitative researchers. Exercises on how to prepare and analyze non-numeric data will be an important part of the course. Participants are invited to work on their own data.
Learning objectives - Assess the suitability of specific research questions for different types of qualitative data analyses
- Set up and perform qualitative data analyses on different types of non-numeric data
- Understand the limits of qualitative data analysis
Bibliography A course reader will be made available on the first day of the workshop.
