Content | This course focuses on discussion and interpretation of the lyrics of the songs of American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift (b. 1989), as well as selected scholarship on Swift's writing, recording, performances, and cultural impact. |

Bibliography | The primary texts for the course are the lyrics of all of Taylor Swift's songs from the ten albums she has released since 2006: Taylor Swift (2006) Fearless (2008) Speak Now (2010) Red (2012) 1989 (2014) Reputation (2017) Lover (2019) Folklore (2020) Evermore (2020) Midnights (2022) Any songs that appear only on the four "Taylor's Versions" released since 2021 will also be part of our canon for discussion. A course pack of secondary literature will be provided. |
