Content The following mechanisms will be discussed: general principles of interaction with cells and proteins, repair mechanisms, mitochondrial respiratory chain, uncoupling, mitochondrial DNA, mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation. ER stress response, redox reactions, lysosomes, phospholipidosis, cytokines, inflammasome, apoptosis, necrosis, nuclear receptors, and ion homeostasis.
Learning objectives At the end of this series of lectures, students should understand the general principles of toxicological mechanisms and should understand how toxicants can damage cellular organelles and cells.
