Content Emily Dickinson (1830-1186) may have published hardly any poems in her lifetime, but her collected work of almost 1800 poems is now considered one of the greatest achievements in literature - not only in American literature but also in world literature. We will "dwell in Possibility" with her poems (and secondary literature on them) and watch Dickinson "Tell all the truth but tell it slant".
Learning objectives In-depth study of Emily Dickinson's poetry, as well as of its reception.

Selected secondary literature on Dickinson's poetry will be provided by the instructor.
